Star singer Jang Nara from the Republic of Korea (RoK) will join Ho Quynh Huong and Dan Truong in an art performance slated to take place at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on June 1.
The gala night marks the 16th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, the RoK and Vietnam , and is hosted by the RoK Embassy, the RoK Culture Centre in Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The performance will be Jang’s second trip to Vietnam following her visit in late 2004 for her ASEAN tour commemorating the 15th anniversary of formal dialogue between the RoK and ASEAN members.
As a leading actress and a singer, Jang made her debut with the song “April Story” in 2001. Her first album “First Story” topped the national album charts soon after it was released. The singer has released six albums with many chart-topping songs such as Sweet Dream and I’m a Girl Too.
Jang began her career playing a witty college student in TV series “New Non-stop” and acted in movies including My Love Patzzi, Can’t Stop My Love and the movie Oh! Happy Day.
However, the film that threw her into the international limelight was the drama Bright Girl, the story of a girl who faces many difficult circumstances but does not lose faith.
Gaining popularity in Vietnam in recent years, female singer Ho Quynh Huong was chosen to perform at the opening ceremony of the freshly-ended RoK Film Festival 2008 in Hanoi .
Meanwhile, male singer Dan Truong will leave for the RoK in coming days to perform at the World Tour Festival in Ansan city on May 25.
During her stay in Vietnam from June 28 to July 10, the beauty queen will call on and present gifts to poor families, disabled children’ centres and HIV/AIDS prevention establishments in a number of localities

She will also visit Nha Trang city to attend a parade welcoming the Miss Universe 2008 contest.
